| Comet Gain is a beloved British indie rock band, formed in 1993 by visionary song-writer David Charlie Christian Feck. Over 5 full lengths and 20 or so 7”s Comet Gain’s music has evolved into a culmination of sounds that range from Northern soul, the riot-grrrl movement, and 60’s girl groups. Comet Gain is contemporaries to the likes of Huggy Bear, The Clean, Bikini Kill, Heavenly, Television Personalities, and the Pastels and has been cited as a major influence on the rising jangly underground including Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Crystal Stilts, and caUSE co-MOTION!. Comet Gain has been rattling the most obscurant of cages in the service of youth culture sympathy. Leader David Feck’s positions on how to operate his endeavor run counter-clockwise to just about any other band on a timeline this extended; perhaps no greater evidence of his theories can be found than on Broken Record Prayers (Milou Studios); a long-over-due collection of Comet Gain’s lost, hidden and cherished singles, unreleased songs and their historic John Peel session.
