| Andrew Kenny hails from Austin, Texas where for 10 years he’s fronted one of Austin’s finest bands, The American Analog Set. Last year he recorded and released his first solo effort, a split e.p. with Ben Gibbard on Austin’s Post Parlo label. Gone are are the buzzing organs, electric piano, and soothing vibraphone we’ve come to expect from the AmAnSet. What remains is the essence of what makes the Analog Set such an endearing band... heartfelt songs about love, loss, crushes, crutches, the inner heart and the other man. What’s more, the songs rely much more on Andrew’s voice, lyrics and sparce style of guitar playing. Live, the already delicate songs grow even quiter creating a intimate bond between the performer and the audience. Between work on a full length solo album and the latest l.p. from the American Analog Set, Andrew also leant his voice and lyrics to a song on the latest Styrofoam Release, “Nothing’s Lost”.  | |
